If you’re big into the NHL, talking more about this guy might bore you, so I apologize, but Connor McDavid just became the 4th fastest player in NHL history to reach 1,000 career points, and we’re gonna talk about it!

In 2015, the Edmonton Oilers had the first overall pick in the draft. They knew there was hype, but even they couldn’t imagine how much would be delivered from their future superstar. They selected Connor McDavid, and yesterday’s goal on a 2 on 1 fastbreak gave him point number 1,000!

He is the 99th player in NHL history to reach the 1,000-point mark, but what makes him special and worthy of all the hype is the speed of which he’s done it. He is the fourth fastest player to record the feat, only behind Gretzky, Lemieux, and Bossy. He is also the fourth-youngest player to 1,000.

Usually reserved, Connor almost got emotional on the ice last night when the crowd wouldn’t stop the ovation during the post-game interview. Even though he hasn’t brought home the big one yet, you can’t say he hasn’t tried. Just this past season the Oilers went down 3-0 in the Stanley Cup Finals. The series was written off. His team would win three straight and force a game 7! He had an unbelievable series and would win the Finals MVP award despite being on the losing team.

He’s only 27 years old, but he has already won 5 scoring titles and 3 MVPs, it’s only a matter of time until he adds a championship to that list.

Just wanted to give some kudos to the best hockey player in the league right now!

Just for a little crazy fact of the day
McDavid just got to 1,000 points in 659 games. The Great One (Wayne Gretzky) got there in 424! That’s 245 games quicker! Unreal!
