Was there something important going on yesterday? Feels like there was something I had to do but I just canât recall⊠I do know that the NFL Trade Deadline was going on, so letâs just recap that.
Zadarius Smith heads north from Cleveland to Detroit: The Lions got the pass rusher they so desperately needed since the season-ending injury of Aidan Hutchinson. Smith is a veteran who has been productive everywhere he goes, and now has the chance to compete for a Super Bowl in Detroit. What a day for him, woke up a Brown, and went to sleep as a Lion. The come-up is real.
Bengals add another RB: Khalil Herbert is no doubt talented, but found himself as the odd man out in a pretty loaded backfield in Chicago behind DeAndre Swift and Roschan Johnson. He now joins a Bengals team trying to save their season one week at a time, and I wouldnât be surprised to see him contribute early, especially because of the lack of production and the recent long-term injury of Zack Moss.
Pittsburgh, and Russ, Get A Weapon: It was no secret that the Mike Williams era in New York as a Jet was going to be short lived after the addition of long time Rodgers teammate Devontae Adams. Williams, who is in his first year not playing with the Chargers, will now put on the black and gold. Wilson gets himself another big bodied target to go along with the likes of George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth.
Washington Makes a Big Move: The Commanders have shocked the NFL world this season as they have came out as one of the most fun to watch teams in the NFL. Despite all their success, it was obvious they needed a cornerback. In steps Marshon Lattimore. The former All-Pro selection has been a shut down corner since the day he arrived in the NFL. Lattimore brings CB1 talent and a mentality that the Commanders will love.
Ravens Get Better on Defense: Much like the Commanders, it was obvious that the Ravens desperately needed a cornerback. Injuries and underperformance have led to teams being able to throw down the field and match the scoring of the Ravens offense. The Ravens went out and got TreâDavious White. White was one of the best corners in the league during his time in Buffalo with the Bills, but spent the last few years of his tenure there playing through injuries. White has played sparingly this season, appearing in four games with the Rams, but should provide some great depth in Baltimore.
