Just when you thought the fun was over, the college basketball world throws eight more games at you

(4) Purdue def. (12) McNeese, 76-62: No matter what anyone tells you, this was all Boilermakers all night long. RIP Amir Khan. (he isn’t dead but he’s gone now)

(5) Michigan def. (4) Texas A&M, 92-79: Despite what the score tells you, this one was Aggies all day long. It wasn’t until about 5 minutes left that the Wolverines said “Hold my beer” and put their game into overdrive. It was all Michigan down the stretch.

(6) BYU def. (3) Wisconsin, 91-89: Arguably the best game of the tournament so far and I feel like not enough people are talking about it. The Cougs and Badgers went back and forth all night long but it wasn’t until with under a minute left that BYU hit the shot that would win them the game. An absolutely phenomenal game that really had us on the edge of our seats.

(3) Texas Tech def. (11) Drake, 77-64: Goodbye to another Cinderella. It was fun while you were here. This Red Raider squad is really loaded and playing well, they will be a TOUGH out for whoever comes knocking next.

(2) Tennessee def. (7) UCLA, 67-58: Is this the last game we see Mick Cronin in the baby blue of UCLA? Is he the next Villanova Wildcat head coach? Heck, I don’t know. But I do know that his Bruins squad could not hold up against the veteran leadership and stud performances of Chaz Lanier and Zakai Zeigler. Tennessee looks DANGEROUS.

(10) Arkansas def. (2) St. John’s, 75-66: I’m choosing not to talk about how disappointing this is for the Johnnies, but instead about how awesome this is for Arkansas and John Calipari. What a great win for a program that is on the come-up after some disappointing finishes in the tournament. The Razorbacks were in control the whole game and even when the Red Storm made a big-time run in the second half, they responded. Coach Cal does his best work when he’s counted out.

(1) Houston def. (8) Gonzaga, 81-76: Raise your hand if you had Gonzaga winning this one 🙋. Well, I was wrong. Is this the year that Kelvin Sampson and his squad can finally make it all the way?

(1) Auburn def. (9) Creighton, 82-70: Auburn was REALLY tested in the first half but this team responded in a big-time way. They looked poised, and confident, and handled the Creighton runs better than most teams would have. They are primed and ready to roll into the next round.
