Six games in three days gave us the ‘Brand. New. Lions.’ It gave us the emergence of what could be the next great wave of Quarterbacks with C.J. Stroud and Jordan Love. We saw the end of what was the miracle run of Joe Flacco (There will still always be something about Flacco), Baker Mayfield is officially back from the dead and with the loss of two NFC East ‘juggernauts’ (in extra large quotations) it could be argued that the best team in the division is the New York Football Giants. Six games across three days seems to have given us storylines for days.

It has also given us what seems to be episode 12 of the Bills-Chiefs saga. A ‘rivalry’ that seems to have been going on for a decade is getting its third playoff installment. Rivalry in quotation marks because can this really be deemed a rivalry. In 2020 the Chiefs advanced to the Super Bowl by beating the Bills 38-24, and that game was not even that close. The next year we got to see them in the Divisional Round where we got what so many called the game of the decade. But for me, someone who bleeds blue cheese and shits wings, it was just another heartbreak.

After that game it was clear that if we ever wanted to do anything in the playoffs we were going to have to get through Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Somehow it numbed me to regular season games, I didn't get as high or low as I once did, because I knew that all that mattered was the game we would have against the Chiefs in the postseason. Well, we made it, we’re here. Bills-Chiefs, Vol. III, for the first time in Upstate New York.

This game gives a massive “If not now, when” feeling. In Vol. I, we got thoroughly thrashed, in Vol. II, we lost but gained the hearts of fans across the globe. Now we have Rocky III and Mr. T, frozen snot in his mustache and all, is staring us dead in the face. There is no more excuse of being on the road, an unfair overtime, or just facing a juggernaut.

We are at Home and both teams will get the ball in OT. There are no excuses.

Yes, we are bruised and battered, but we are still more than capable of beating this team. The message in the locker room from our Quarterback who leads us into battle was simple.

“We’re taking it one game at a time, it’s simple. Sunday at 6:30.”

There are no more excuses. There is nothing else. There’s us, and there’s them. And there’s all of us watching. To Bills Mafia, buckle up and be juiced, this is the biggest game we have had in the Allen-Mcdermott era.

If not now when!
