Another rough day to be a New York Jets fan as they lose to the New England Patriots and their backup QB⊠is it time to blow it all up?
On paper, the New York Jets have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL. I mean, the list of high-level names with high-level contracts is quite long, and the roster got even better heading into this past weekend when they got their star pass rusher, Hassan Reddick, back from his contract holdout.
The Jets fell to the Patriots, 25-22, yesterday when Rhomandre Stevenson of the Patriots scored with less than a minute to go in the game. The Jets fell to 2-6 on the year, and a Thursday night matchup with the impressive Houston Texans looming. Unfortunately for NY, the bye week isnât coming to save them quite yet, they will have to wait until late November for that.
Is it time to jump ship? Well, you canât fire your interim head coach, right? RightâŠ? You canât trade away your star QB, you canât trade away your star WR(s), so where do you go from here?
This team is in trouble. The franchise is all-in, and they just arenât seeing the results they thought they would. As coach Jeff Ulbrich put it after their loss, âThis is a moment of darknessâ. Yep, that about sums it up.
The offense has been a real issue, not scoring more than 24 points all season. The WR issue was supposed to be resolved when they traded for Davante Adams, but there hasnât been a true breakout yet from him. Itâs still early, but the clock is ticking, and itâs ticking FAST for the Jets.
